Sheet Metal Vacuum Lifter
Safe Working Load Range:500kg-20 Ton
Typical Material:steel plate and stainless steel sheet handling
Available Power:AC 208-460 V (+/-10%) or DC 12 V
Sheet metal vacuum lifter enable picking, transfer and placement of flat sheets, removing the need for hooks, clamps or magnetic contact. The lifting frame positions vacuum pads over the workpiece, allowing thin or finished sheets to be lifted from the top face. The system is intended for horizontal movement of carbon steel plate, stainless steel sheet and other materials with a sufficiently sealed lifting face.
This range covers compact HP-BS units from 500 kg to 2,500 kg and HP-BL heavy-duty frames from 3 t to 20 t. AC-powered, DC 12 V and pneumatic configurations are available according to the lifting point and duty arrangement.

The HP-BSJ configuration is suited to sheet-handling duties where surface condition and operating continuity vary. HP-BSZ configurations are intended for smooth metal and non-metal panels and can be supplied in DC 12 V form for mobile handling arrangements. For short, high-frequency loading cycles on smooth material, the HP-BSQ pneumatic configuration operates from compressed air.

Vacuum Lifter for Sheet Metal: Load Contact and Frame Layout
The matching of the suction cup layout, the lifting surface and the sheet metal condition determines the applicability of the "vacuum lifter for sheet metal". The sheet metal must provide sufficient sealing contact surfaces for the suction cups; the lifting frame needs to control the deflection of the sheet metal during lifting, operation and positioning to avoid abnormal local stress.
HP-BS frames use six, eight, ten or twelve suction cups. HP-BL frames extend the structure for large steel plate, with ten, sixteen or twenty cups in the listed configurations. On heavy-duty frames, the suction-pad positions can be adjusted to suit changes in plate dimensions. Large models may be configured with higher-flow vacuum generation or dual vacuum systems, and an optional UPS standby power arrangement is available for selected projects.

Vacuum Lifters for Steel Plate in Production Flow
Vacuum lifters for steel plate are used where the sheet must remain accessible after lifting and where clamp marks, hook access or magnetic handling are unsuitable. Typical operations include:
- Feeding plate-processing, cutting or forming lines.
- Transferring carbon steel plate from stock to workstations.
- Moving stainless steel sheet while protecting the exposed upper face.
- Horizontal plate loading beneath an overhead crane, jib crane or dedicated handling structure.
- Serving mobile handling duties with a DC 12 V vacuum lifting device for sheet metal.
A vacuum lifter sheet metal configuration should be selected around the largest and smallest sheets handled, not only the heaviest sheet. The required pad spacing changes when narrow, long or thin plates are moved. The lifting beam, crane capacity and available headroom must also include the equipment weight shown in the configuration table.
Selection Points Before Configuration
For reliable sheet metal vacuum lifters, define the workpiece and lifting route before selecting a model:
- Sheet dimensions and weight:Establish the full plate range, maximum weight and minimum contact area.
- Surface condition:Identify oil, scale, protective film, perforations, curvature, embossing or coating that may reduce vacuum sealing.
- Material rigidity:Thin plate requires a pad pattern and frame span that control deflection during transfer.
- Power source:Match AC, DC 12 V or compressed-air supply to the crane, mobile vehicle or workstation.
- Duty cycle and travel:Confirm lifting frequency, transfer distance, acceleration and placement method.
- Safety arrangement:Define the project requirement for vacuum monitoring, alarm functions, isolation of cup groups and standby power.
Operating Boundary
Vacuum handling requires sealed contact surfaces. Published safe working loads correspond to their defined configuration and cannot replace application assessment. Porous, rough, damaged, perforated, oily or curved sheets weaken vacuum contact. Confirm workpiece data, pad arrangement, lifting route and safety features for your task before operating the equipment.
FAQ
What materials can a vacuum sheet metal lifter handle?
It is intended for flat sheet materials that can form a stable seal with the suction cups, including carbon steel plate and stainless steel sheet. Smooth non-metal panels may be handled by suitable HP-BSZ configurations. The actual material surface must be reviewed before selection.
How do I choose between AC, DC and pneumatic vacuum lifters for sheet metal?
Use AC 208-460 V where a fixed electrical supply is available at the lifting point. DC 12 V is suitable for mobile handling arrangements. Pneumatic HP-BSQ configurations use compressed air at 0.6-0.8 MPa and are intended for short, high-frequency work on smooth material.
Can vacuum lifters steel plate handle different sheet lengths?
Yes. Frame and suction-pad layout are matched to the plate range. The larger HP-BL series provides adjustable pad positions to accommodate changes in plate dimensions. A final layout should be based on the smallest and largest sheets, not on nominal plate size alone.
Is the listed safe working load enough to select a model?
No. Load is only one selection factor. Plate dimensions, thickness, stiffness, surface condition, equipment self-weight, crane capacity and duty cycle all affect the required configuration.
Can one vacuum lifter for sheet metal handle stainless steel and carbon steel?
It can when both workpiece surfaces provide stable vacuum contact and the cup material, pad spacing and operating conditions are compatible. The material type alone does not determine suitability; the surface and sheet geometry must be checked.
What checks must be completed before every lift?
Check suction cups for cleanliness and damage, verify adequate contact with the workpiece, confirm normal vacuum readings and ensure the load stays stable before movement. All lifting operations must follow site operating procedures and the equipment manual for each lift cycle.
