High Temperature Lifting Electromagnet
Type:High Temperature
Lifting Capacity:5-46 Ton
Mass:680-7620kg
Cold-State Power:2.4-19.0kW
A high temperature lifting electromagnet is used to handle ferromagnetic steel products when material temperature, load form and handling arrangement must be considered together. This product range covers thick plate, slab, billet, girder billet, bundled bar and coiled bar handling. Series selection is based on the actual workpiece and lifting method rather than on a nominal lifting figure alone.
The listed configurations operate at DC 220 V with a TD 60% duty cycle. MW03 high-temperature models are listed for steel temperatures from 150 to 600 degrees C. For all other series, allowable workpiece temperature must be confirmed against the selected model and operating condition before order release.

The range is not interchangeable across all steel products. A round thick-plate electromagnet, a bundled-bar electromagnet and a coil-handling electromagnet engage the load differently. The workpiece profile, contact area, air gap, temperature and unit arrangement must be evaluated as one lifting condition.

Operating basis for the MW03 table: rated voltage DC 220 V; duty cycle TD 60%; listed steel temperature 150-600 degrees C.
The example lifting capacities in this table are reference values, not a universal rated lifting commitment. They change with steel grade, surface condition, temperature, plate or ingot geometry, contact condition and lifting arrangement. The final lifting scheme must be established against the actual load and safety requirements.

Selection Requirements for High Temperature Steel Handling
Confirm the Workpiece Temperature First
Temperature is a selection input, not a descriptive label. The MW03 high-temperature table specifies 150-600 degrees C. Do not apply this range automatically to MW18, MW19, MW22 or MW32 models. Confirm the material temperature, exposure duration and operating cycle for the intended series.
Match the Magnet Form to the Load Form
- Thick plate, slab caster or large steel ingot: evaluate the MW03 round series.
- Bundled bar and packed ferrous stock: evaluate the MW18 series and define the bundle geometry.
- Coiled bar: evaluate the MW19 series and match magnet length to coil dimensions.
- Billet, girder billet and slab: evaluate MW22 or MW32 series with the required unit arrangement.
Define the Lifting Arrangement
The MW22 and MW32 reference tables include examples for combined two-unit operation. Where the workpiece length or stability requires more than one electromagnet, the spacing, suspension arrangement and control sequence must be defined for the specific load. A multi-unit arrangement cannot be selected by multiplying an individual reference value.
Verify Electrical and Crane Interface Data
Confirm DC supply compatibility, duty cycle, lifting beam or hook interface, cable routing, control logic and the available crane capacity after allowing for electromagnet self-weight. The magnet mass is a permanent part of the lifted system load.
Industrial Applications
This high temperature lifting electromagnet range is suited to steel handling steps where hot or elevated-temperature ferromagnetic products must be transferred by overhead crane. Typical workpieces include thick steel plate, slab caster sections, large steel ingots, billets, girder billets, bundled bar and coiled bar. The appropriate series is determined by the workpiece geometry and the documented operating temperature of the selected model.

FAQ
What is the listed rated voltage and duty cycle?
The supplied MW03, MW18, MW19, MW22 and MW32 series data lists a rated voltage of DC 220 V and a TD 60% duty cycle. The electrical supply and duty profile must still be checked against the final lifting system.
Can this high temperature lifting electromagnet handle steel at 600 degrees C?
The MW03 high-temperature models are listed for steel temperatures from 150 to 600 degrees C. This temperature range must not be extended to another series without model-specific confirmation.
Is the example lifting capacity a guaranteed safe working load?
No. The listed figures are example lifting capacities under stated reference conditions. Actual capability must be verified for the workpiece material, dimensions, temperature, surface condition, air gap and lifting configuration.
Which electromagnet is used for thick steel plate?
The MW03 series is identified for thick plate, slab caster and large steel ingot handling. Select the diameter and configuration after reviewing the plate or ingot dimensions and the required handling condition.
Which series is suitable for coiled bar?
The MW19 high-temperature series is identified for coiled bar and bar stock. Magnet length must be matched to the coil geometry and handling direction.
Can two lifting electromagnets be operated together?
Yes. The supplied MW22 and MW32 data includes two-unit lifting examples. The number of units, spacing and suspension arrangement must be engineered for the actual load; reference capacities cannot simply be added.
What information is needed for model selection?
Provide the workpiece type, dimensions, material temperature, lifting direction, required duty cycle, crane capacity, available DC supply and whether a single or multi-unit arrangement is required. These inputs are necessary to establish an appropriate high temperature lifting electromagnet configuration.
Request a Technical Selection
Specify the steel product, maximum material temperature, dimensions, handling orientation, expected work cycle and crane interface. The selection should identify the applicable series, magnet quantity, electrical operating basis and load-specific lifting verification requirements before the lifting system is released for use.
