Common Troubleshooting Methods for Overhead Cranes

Bridge cranes are common material handling equipment, and some failures will inevitably occur during use. In order to eliminate faults in time and ensure the normal operation of the crane, the following introduces some common troubleshooting methods for bridge cranes:

1. The brake is not effective or the braking torque is small, and the lifting mechanism may slip; the vehicle may slip in the operating mechanism.

(1) There is oil on the surface of the brake wheel, and the friction coefficient decreases, resulting in a decrease in braking torque and the vehicle cannot be braked. It can be solved by cleaning the surface oil with kerosene or gasoline.

(2) The brake shoe lining is severely worn and the rivets are exposed. The rivets are in contact with the braking surface during braking. Just replace the brake shoe lining.

(3) The main spring is improperly adjusted and the tension is small, resulting in the vehicle being unable to brake and causing the vehicle to slip or hook. Readjust the brake so that its main spring tension is increased.

(4) The blades of the hydraulic pusher are not flexible in rotation, resulting in reduced braking torque. Adjust the impeller to eliminate the jamming resistance and make the impeller rotate the slider to solve the problem.

2. The wheels deflect or drag when the car is running.

(1) The wheel gauge is incorrect. Just adjust the wheels so they run within the gauge range.

(2) The wheel rail surface is uneven or defective. Repair or replace wheels.

(3) The axle is bent. Correct or replace axle.

(4) The bearing clearance is too large or damaged. Adjust or replace bearings.

(5) Poor lubrication. Add oil or change lubricant.

3. The motor does not start or runs abnormally.

(1) The power supply voltage is too low or unstable. Check and adjust power supply.

(2) The motor winding is burned or grounded. Replace the motor.

(3) Motor control circuit failure. Check and eliminate circuit faults.

(4) The brake is not released. Release the brake.
