The working principle of a 3-ton overhead crane can be described as follows:

 

1. Structure: A 3-ton overhead crane consists of a main girder, end trucks, hoist, trolley, and control system. The main girder spans the working area, supported by end trucks that travel along the runway beams. The hoist is connected to the trolley, which runs across the main girder.

 

2. Lifting Operation: The hoist is equipped with a wire rope or chain that is attached to the load hook. When the hoist motor is activated, the wire rope or chain is either wound or unwound, resulting in the upward or downward movement of the load. By controlling the operation of the hoist motor, the height and position of the load can be precisely controlled.

 

3. Travel Operation: The trolley, which carries the hoist, is equipped with wheels that run along the lower flange of the main girder. By activating the trolley motor, the trolley can move horizontally along the length of the main girder. This allows the crane to position the load horizontally within the working area.

 

4. Control System: The 3-ton overhead crane is equipped with a control system that enables manual or electric operation. Manual control is typically achieved through control levers or buttons, while electric control utilizes switches, buttons, and remote control devices. These control devices allow the operator to control the crane's movement, lifting, travel, and stopping functions.
